presence begins with the human figure.

small, distant or almost absorbed by its surroundings, the body becomes a measure of scale, a quiet point of reference within spaces that often seem to exceed it.

these photographs explore moments in which a person and a place briefly enter into relation. a gesture, a posture, a solitary figure crossing an open space: simple encounters in which human presence becomes visible through everything that surrounds it.

rather than focusing on the individual, i look at the space between the figure and its environment. architecture, landscape and light become part of the same composition, giving the body a fragile and temporary place within the frame.

presence is not about the individual, but about the relationship between the body and the space it inhabits. a brief trace within a world that was there before and will remain after.
